Per Sempre, meaning “forever” in Italian, is a wine more than a decade in the making. This living, or “forever” blend, is created by blending the best-of-the-best barrels of each vintage of Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon starting with the 2007 vintage. Each year, beginning in 2020, only a small quantity is bottled from this solera system. The small void left by the bottling is then topped off by the reserve barrels from the next vintage, restoring the balance of the blend, which will remain in the cellar, Per Sempre!

This extremely rare vinification technique results in a wine that is unlike a typical vintage wine. Complex and layered both on the nose and palate, this unique wine showcases the depth and nuance of an older wine while being infused with the vibrant intensity of younger wines. While this wine will cellar for years to come, the aged components of the blend make it very approachable right away.

Our Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect representation of Jeff’s signature style. With the ability to exert absolute control from planting to harvest, every choice made has carried his vision to this reality. This wine is the culmination of all the efforts the Fontanellas have made since acquiring the property in 2005. Our estate has been laid out in 16 blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, with 5 different clones and different plantings providing a broad spectrum for building complexity. Harvested from the best vineyard blocks on our Estate and selected from the best barrels within those lots, the Estate Cabernet is a true Reserve Selection. Extended aging in 100% new French oak fortifies the power, concentration, and complexity of this special wine and exemplifies what makes Mt. Veeder unique.
